Corporal Punishment

What is corporal punishment? Corporal punishment is when a teacher deals pain unto a student with usally a ruler or stick. Its unclear when corporal punishment started but it was used almost all over the world. It was maniley cruel way to keep children in line. As the comic you see before you child was late for school and was threatned with being hit by a cane. As you also see in the third pannel of the comic the boy is shivering and very scared of being hit. Its basicly a beating from a teacher for being late,rude,disrespectful,ignoring a teacher,and not doing your work.

Corporal punishment started in medevil times. It started in classical civilizations such as Greece,Rome,Egypt,and Israel. It was mainley used in Sparata for desciplinary reasons. It was a brutal form of punshment it invovled 39 lashes from a whip in some places. In medevil churchs it was used only when a child would not follow the school rules. It started from the eleventh century up until the 20th century.

In the modern world its used commonly but it has been outlawed since the 1950s. Parents barely use it but its needed to keep them in line and know their place. Its still used here today in America sadley. Corporal punishment for boys is still used today but for girls its banned. However with approval from a parent a child can be hit by a teacher. Luckly, the punishment now are mild and isn't as severe.

Many people have recieved some form of corporal punisment it was always for misbehaving. However if a child was that rude to recieve it,its the parents or teachers fault in my oponion they should have control over the child. There are other ways to resolve a childs misbehaving theres a group called EPFC or Equal protection for children. The EPFC devolps different ways of controling a child such as a star chart. A star chart is used to tally up a childs behavior by the end of the month if the child has all stars for good behavior he or she would receive a prize. Theres your alternative.

Overall corporal punishment may not be the best way to keep a child inline but it is effective.So people should use other alternatives to control a child. Thats corporal punisment.
